Back2Wellbeing is an upcoming social enterprise centred around good values, integrity and respect. We specialise in massage, pain therapy & reflexology with emphasis on it’s affordability. Rather than getting patients in and out of the door and providing a generic massage, we like to tailor treatments in regards to the status of the patients health and their problem areas. Furthermore, we focus on building a good rapport with patients.
The inspiration behind Back2Wellbeing derives from the founders personal experiences. A family friend of the founder developed chiari malformation (chronic pain) and subsequently underwent standard NHS treatment, i.e. Painkillers, and experienced no improvement of their state of health. After receiving a mix of pain therapy treatment such as massage and reflexology they began to notice substantial improvements regarding their state of health. The aforementioned family friend went from a state of being bed bound, living with a poor quality of life, to walking, exercising & socialising – living life to the fullest.
Unfortunately all this treatment was not provided by the NHS and was a huge financial strain on the individual. After witnessing this, the founder wanted to provide this treatment for anyone and everyone, regardless of their income.
It is unquestionable that living in today’s world brings about a significant amount of stress to our daily lives – whether the cause of this stress its due to financial, physical or mental pressure that in itself shall lead to potential effects such as: depression, anxiety/trauma or general ill-health.
We use our body ALL DAY for work, socialising and doing house chores without thinking of our general wellbeing. Massage can significantly benefit you physically, mentally and spiritually; although it does not always immediately affect major health conditions, our body will positively react and allow a state of relaxation. Resulting in the increase of testosterone, elevate oxygen and blood flow, encourage the production of brain chemicals to (such as serotonin, endorphins etc.), which in overall gives significant benefits to improve our physical & mental health.
The Mayo Clinic (2018) expresses how beneficial regular massage can be for an individual. Their clinical trials demonstrate that it is an effective treatment for reducing stress, pain and muscle tension. Moreover, massage therapy may be recommended to help people cope with the pain and stress of cancer, heart disease, stomach problems, fibromyalgia and many other conditions where individuals live or experience chronic pain.
The NHS is no longer as ‘orthodox’ as it once was. An increasing number of consultants, doctors and nurses concede that as long as their patients do not abandon their conventional treatment as recommended by the NICE guidelines, complementary therapy has been seen to add value to their patients’ psychological and physical needs.
Treatment can only be made on an appointment basis. Please call 01202 805334 or 07914 572439 to book an appointment.
